The name de Palatijn originates from the Latin Mons Palatinus or Palatium, a hill on which, according to the classic legend, the old city of Rome was founded by Romulus. On this hill the Romans built a verity of palaces. This is where the word palace got its name from Palatium. The location of de Palatijn - raised above the district of monarchs – refers to the fact that a palace on a hill offers view and protection. Our logo can been seen as a crown in which all mentioned aspects are combined, but symbolizes as well three persons holding each other. The three tips represent the three special services de Palatijn offers : care, well-being and recreation.
Restaurant
De Palatijn boats an excellent 60 seat full à la carte restaurant which is opened from 07.00 – 23.00h, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And of course our guests are most welcome to make full use of our waterside terrace if the weather is fine.

Kiosk
Our kiosk offers a full choice of magazines and newspapers and a wide range of pleasant gifts. Brochures and leaflets detailing places of interest, museums, attractions en cultural events in and around Alkmaar can be picked up at our information point.

Sauna & Beauty Salon
Why not include an extra relaxing element to your stay with us by visiting our beauty salon and/or sauna. Regenerate yourself with new energy in our infrared cabin, have a refreshing bath in de whirlpool or let of some steam in the steam cabin. If you would like to include your visit to the sauna with a massage of a beauty treatment, we can arrange this with pleasure.

Your credit card details are required to guarantee your booking up to your arrival at the hotel. Payment will be made exclusively to the hotel. If you cannot take up your booking, you need to cancel no later than 1 day(s) before your date of arrival. Please take into account that the date of arrival starts at 0.00 am (CET.) Any booking not taken up and not cancelled 1 day(s) before arrival will be billed at a cost equivalent to the price of the first night. A different cancellation policy may apply for group bookings. The hotel will contact you within 24 hrs. if this is the case.
