Information about Amstelzicht Hotel

Hotel Amstelzicht, a historic canal house built in 1659, sits on the famous Amstel Canal in the heart of the city centre. We are a privately-owned 3-star hotel, with a friendly atmosphere and close to all the main tourist attractions.

A famous landmark, Hotel Amstelzicht is and one of the so-called, "three dancing houses".

Since we took over the hotel in August 2004, we have redecorated most of the 14 rooms and added a few apartments. Some of these rooms and apartments offer fantastic views over the canal. We have double, twin, triple, and family rooms. The apartments are self catering and can accommodate up to 4 persons.

The rooms are all decorated with a personal touch. While each room is different, all of them offer the comfort and facilities you expect from a 3-star hotel, such as private bathroom, minibar, telephone, safe deposit box, hairdryer, and wireless internet. In addition to rooms with or without canal view, The Hotel will be a non-smoking hotel from the 1th of july 2008.

Throughout the renovations that have taken place over the years, the historical features of the building have been preserved, such as the marble and ceiling ornaments in the main hallway, as well the steep stairway which is typical of an Amsterdam canal house from the 17th Century.

Located at Amstel 104, the hotel is at the beginning of the Amstel Canal, just 100 meters from the Munt Square and the Flower Market. The Rembrandt Square is just around the corner. The Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank House are all within walking distance.
There is no elevator in the hotel.
The reception is open from 8 am – 10 pm. If you plan to arrive outside these office hours please notify the hotel in advance and let them know your flight number and arrival time, so the hotel manager will wait for you to welcome you. Check-in time for the hotel rooms is from 2pm and check-in time for the apartments is from 5pm.
The hotel does not serve breakfast. However, there are many small restaurants in close vicinity that do serve breakfast.

• Canal View Apartment

  The canal view apartments are large apartments from around 70 m2 and can also accommodate 4 persons. They have a large living room with a sofa bed (2pax), dining table, TV, an open kitchen with dishwasher, stove and fridge. The canal view apartments have one bedroom with a double bed, and a south-facing balcony.

Cancellation & conditions

Your credit card details are required to guarantee your booking up to your arrival at the hotel. Payment will be made exclusively to the hotel. If you cannot take up your booking, you need to cancel no later than 7 day(s) before your date of arrival. Please take into account that the date of arrival starts at 0.00 am (CET.) Any booking not taken up and not cancelled 7 day(s) before arrival will be billed at a cost equivalent to the price of the total stay. A different cancellation policy may apply for group bookings. The hotel will contact you within 24 hrs. if this is the case.

Please note: The hotel will pre-authorize your credit card 7 days prior to the arrival date. Hotel Amstelzicht accepts the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and American Express. The hotel does not accept Diners Card/JCB. Payment takes place upon arrival.
