• great location close to train station in "fun" area of amsterdam. excellent hotel restaurant for lunch/late breakfast--an especially good value compared to other meals my brother and i had in the area. housekeeping placed drawstring bag with fresh towels, soap and toilet paper on door handle--big plus for late sleepers.


• tight squeeze in the rooms didnt bother us too much, and we liked the furnishings, but the bathroom is perhaps a little too efficient. lack of even a small shelf near the sink made removing contacts a challenge, as the sink has only a very small bit of horizontal space. water did not stay in the shower area, so the whole bathroom floor became wet. a more significant enclosure would be an improvement.

• my room (402) couldnt benefit from the use of the free wi-fi available at the hotel as the signal was out of range from the wireless router stored at the back of the hotel. this is resolve easily if i go to the corridor or just sit in the lobby to access the wi-fi.

• room was verz small. minimalist decor. shower is just a curtain with a shower head and you take a shower on the bathroom floor. it was fine for a no frills stay. would not want to stay for a long visit, though, unless Ï got a bigger room. breakfast was not included in price. i bought it anyway, and it was fine.
