Weapon of Amsterdam
The same can be found back at the Amsterdam flag, but then lying.
The significance of the crosses is unknown, but historians assume that it stands for the three scourges which have affected Amsterdam, the water, fire and the plague.
It is also the weapon of the family Persijn (Jan Persijn is cited as founder of "ground" the current Dam) invoked as inspiration for the three Andreascrosses.
After the Second World War, as a tribute to the resistance of Amsterdam, the motto 'Heldhaftig, Determined, Most Merciful " was added to the weapon, with royal permission of the then Queen Wilhelmina in 1946.

Beautiful decorated and spacious 2 bedroom apartments in the canal area / centre of Amsterdam All our apartments are located in 16th century canal houses and of high modern standards.
The apartments are completely furnished with comfortable sitting area overlooking the canal and connected to the spacious sheltered balcony.
There is also a modern kitchen with all utilities such as microwave, cooker, fridge, toaster. coffee machine and dishwasher.
PLease note that you can reserve as well for more persons: from 1 until 4 persons.
