De Amsterdamse Jordaan is ongetwijfeld de meest bezongen, beschreven en geromantiseerde stadswijk van Nederland. Ooit aangelegd als wijk voor de minder bedeelde, vandaag de dag is het een favoriete wijk voor studenten, artiesten en jonge ondernemers met veel heerlijke restaurants en een bruisend nachtleven.

our room was located under the staircase, it was very loud when people walked up and down. it would also have been nice if checkout was 12 and not 11 as we had quite a late flight.

wat we al eerder hadden gelezen bij de recensies: we hadden een large kamer besteld, maar kregen een standard. dit werd rechtgezet toen we het aankaartten.

friendly staff beautiful area free coffee, tea and computer in the nice lobby possibility to hire bikes (but not the small boat as indicated in their webpage)

at first we got a room so tiny, it was not possible to unpack our suitcases, but we made a request and got the very best one on the top floor. we later found out, that we actually had paid for a „large room“. because the rooms are so different, they should indicate more precisely what you get for your money. our room was very large and in the renovated part of the hotel. nevertheless the room needs attention: the shower has mildew stains on the (wooden!!) ceiling and one window can not be closed.

very central location. breakfast and internet being available is a bonus.

not a good choice if you have heavy luggage as there is no lift and the stairs are very narrow and steep. if you are young, healthy and travelling light is is an excellent choice.

mooie lobby. goede ligging (centraal bij cs, in de jordaan, maar toch rustig: onze kamer was op de eerste verdieping, boven de lobby, aan de gracht: desondanks geen lawaaioverlast). goede bedden, goed sanitair.

kamer en badkamer waren wel erg klein. voor 1 of 2 nachten wel te doen, voor een langer verblijf echt te klein. en waarschijnlijk wel 1 van de kamers die nog verbouwd moesten worden: de kamer was netjes, maar week nogal af van de superstrakke lounge lobby.

less able visitors would struggle with the narrow steep staircases typical to this type of building but the hotel does mention this on their webpage.

truly excellent location, close enough to all the main attractions to be reached on foot, yet in a quiet area away from stag groups etc. many nice restaurants and bars nearby too. the hotel itself is impressive too, the 2 star rating is very misleading as the standard of decoration and comfort is better than in many 4 star hotels i have stayed in.
