Amsterdam

Amsterdam is sometimes justifiably referred to as one of the world’s biggest ‘little’ cities - a place where every visitor will find something to interest them among the canals lined by magnificent merchants’ houses, the bridges and the innumerable cosy bars, restaurants and narrow streets. The bustling Leidseplein with its dozens of typical Amsterdam restaurants, cafés and discos, is only a 4-minute walk away. A little further along is the Paulus Potterstraat, famous for its three world-class museums: the Rijksmuseum, Het Stedelijk Museum, and the Van Gogh Museum. The relaxing, delightful Vondelpark is also a mere stone’s throw away. Come here to walk, sit on a park bench and people-watch, and forget you’re in the middle of a city. The Max Euweplein is also worth a mention, with its attractive shops, lunchrooms, stand-up comedy venues and the Holland Casino. Amsterdam has an enormous amount to offer shopaholics. Walk out of the hotel and past the boutiques on the PC Hoofdstraat, across the Max Euweplein and on to the Leidsestraat. From there you can shop continuously until you reach the Centraal Station. And of course you can always take some time out in one of the many cosy and atmospheric cafes and restaurants along the way. Or you can arrange a romantic dinner or candlelit cruise along the beautifully illuminated Amsterdam canals.
