• poor choice of food at breakfast. seating inadequate when busy. window in bedroom held open with book no air con shower dangerous - went boiling hot then cold toilet wobbly. glass shelf hanging off very dirty shower curtain

• somebody in the room above took a shower --> i got wet lying in my bed!! we got a new room, a room where we couldnt close the window and the bathroom smelled... there were renovations ongoing in the hotel but nobody told us about that when we booked...

• the breakfast was pretty poor, very few towels, no charm or extra little things, lots of noise. the phones didnt really work, and the lobby smelled

• the location. the receptionist was apologetic under the circumstances.


• the hotel is not up to the standard as advertised. the quality and standard is not 3 star and in barely 2 star. the rooms are in bad repair and in need of redecorating. the beds are of poor quality and only one pilow for example. the outside was scruffy and gave a bad impression. the carpet is worn and dirty. the whole impression of the hotel was one of a dubious nature. we arived on time in the morning but had to pat the first night fee of 110 euros - despite our complaint that the hotel was not as advertised and of poor standard and not because we cancelled for other reasons. i was in amsterdam for a conference and this gives a bad impression of what is otherwise a beautiful city. we stayed in the marriott. i will be writing to the amsterdam tourist board.

• the traffic noises were quite disturbing; the room was well cleaned but otherwise did not meet with my expectations (for 80 euros per night i would have expected something a bit more comfortable); the 5% extra charge for paying with credit card did not feel very reasonable.

• problem with parking place in front of the hotel. very expensive. €2,30 for 1 hour. the best time of this hotel is over. some redecoration work would be good.
