• het heeft een zeer goede ligging. dicht bij het centrum en langs het vondelpark. het ligt in een rustige straat.


• de receptie kon geen of gebroken nederlands. dus je moet engels kunnen spreken. dit is zeer gek want ik ben speciaal naar nederland gereisd om in mijn eigen taal te kunnen spreken. als je cash betaald dan moet je kijken dat je bijna gepast geld meeneemt want ze kunnen niet terug geven. wisselen voor in de pakeerautomaat doen ze ook al niet. dat vind ik toch een beetje een minpunt. je weet als hotel dat ze dat altijd vragen als je in een betaalstraat staat.

• the location was good for me and it was less expensive than other hotel in the area.


• i had difficulty with the heating and the bathroom light was not working. by the time hotel staff came to the door i was already in bed. the drapes which were right over the bed were dirty and ragged. the room had barely enough space to turn around. i realize the hotel was undergoing renovation and obviously this room had not been done. for 90euros i expected a bit better but i guess it was ok for the location.

• its a nice small hotel in a quite and relatively central location


• i had a single room which was ridiculously small there wasnt even room to place my small carry on bag in a spot where i would not trip over it. they appear to have double rooms which are quite nice but this single room was way to small and i stayed at small japanese so i am familiar with small but this is just ridiculous.

• somebody in the room above took a shower --> i got wet lying in my bed!! we got a new room, a room where we couldnt close the window and the bathroom smelled... there were renovations ongoing in the hotel but nobody told us about that when we booked...

• the breakfast was pretty poor, very few towels, no charm or extra little things, lots of noise. the phones didnt really work, and the lobby smelled

• the location. the receptionist was apologetic under the circumstances.


• the hotel is not up to the standard as advertised. the quality and standard is not 3 star and in barely 2 star. the rooms are in bad repair and in need of redecorating. the beds are of poor quality and only one pilow for example. the outside was scruffy and gave a bad impression. the carpet is worn and dirty. the whole impression of the hotel was one of a dubious nature. we arived on time in the morning but had to pat the first night fee of 110 euros - despite our complaint that the hotel was not as advertised and of poor standard and not because we cancelled for other reasons. i was in amsterdam for a conference and this gives a bad impression of what is otherwise a beautiful city. we stayed in the marriott. i will be writing to the amsterdam tourist board.

• the traffic noises were quite disturbing; the room was well cleaned but otherwise did not meet with my expectations (for 80 euros per night i would have expected something a bit more comfortable); the 5% extra charge for paying with credit card did not feel very reasonable.
