• nice staff willing to answer any questions and give suggestions on what to see and where to dine. the elevator, although slow, was a lifesaver getting suitcases up to the top floor. the location is in a more residential area so the city noises are not as intrusive. having a bathroom attached to each of the rooms was a nice plus.

• good location. friendly owners and staff. good breakfast in pleasant dining room with patio doors on to garden where you could watch green parrots from the nearby vondelpark feeding at the bird feeder. room had everything you need - hairdryer, safe, fridge and mini bar and comfortable beds.


• we were on the 4th floor and there was a lift but it was tiny (3 not too fat people maximum). once we got used to the cramped space and slow speed it was fine. no other complaints.

• when i was checking in, i was asked to pay my bill in full. the man at the desk said that this was their policy, to have their guests pay when checking in. then when i was checking out, i was asked to pay the bill again. it was a good thing that i had my receipt to show that i already paid. if it was their policy to have their guests pay first, they wouldnt have asked to pay when checking out. perhaps, the fact that i was not white made a difference to them and they doubted my ability to pay. i love to travel and i traveled in europe before, i never paid my bill when checking in. perhaps this is a commentary on rich vs. poor. netherlands being one of the richest country, doesnt trust the non-white tourists, whereas, other countries not so rich, i was welcomed. needless to say, i would never be using this hotel again nor will i recommend it to my family and friends.

• perfecto para una familia como la nuestra (con tres niños mayores). en un barrio bonito, muy bien comunicado y a la vez tranquilo, cerca de todos los lugares de interés. al lado de los mejores parques (vondelpark, museumplein) para jugar o montar en bici después de las visitas de la mañana. el hotel, sin lujos (no los buscábamos), está bien conservado y limpio. el personal, muy educado y eficiente, atendió amablemente todas nuestras demandas (reserva de taxi, ...) el desayuno muy bien (los niños tuvieron ración "extra" de chocolate todos los días...)

• our room was just ridiculously small, even by european standards. it was absolutely not a room for two people. there was literally no room to put our luggage and we had nowhere to even stand. we stayed in other hotels this trip that were small but none compared with the tininess of this room.
