• de kamer was wat klein ondanks het feit dat we een deluxe-kamer hadden geboekt. het ontbijt was ook wat te eenvoudig. de 1e dag hebben we bijna 10 minuten moeten wachten omdat het brood op was.

• the location was great. close to the leidesplein and the park is right across the street.


• the hotel is under construction. and it has a long way until its finished. they start the construction at 7:30am and dont finish till 6-7 pm. the noise is so loud all day. and at night they have a bar in the hotel and i could easily hear it from my room. the rooms walls are paper thin and i could hear the other guests all night long. i asked for a smoking room when i booked the hotel, and once i arrived they told me the hotel is all non-smoking. the breakfast was horrible. only bread, cereal & juice. i will never stay here again.

• their laundry service made 2 mistakes...they left out some clothes once and also tried to charge more once i had already filled out the forms. also, this service is extremely expensive...not good value. they are currently doing some kind of construction on the exterior of the building and have scaffolding set up. this did not impact me since i was at the rear of the building, but it could be noisy for the rooms near this.

• it was a very pleasant stay from the breakfast through to the bar at the end of the day (the man tending the bar was great!).


• i felt we paid a lot (e140) for our relatively small room and bathroom (with no bath, just shower), especially in comparison to other major cities we stayed in while in europe. i think it was slightly overpriced, by e10-15 but otherwise it was a lovely stay.

• quick and friendly check in. all staff were excellent, particularly martin, who gave us all the information we needed and more. he also gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. the executive rooms we stayed in had super comfortable beds and the bathrooms were fantastic with huge jacuzzi baths. the bar is cozy and contemporary and we met some lovely people who were staying at the hotel also. the hotel is well situated beside the park and is quiet at night, it is a lovely area of amsterdam. you can walk to the city centre (dam square) quite easily or take a tram from around the corner, the reception sells the strip card tickets for the tram. we had a great time and i would definately stay here again.
