Artis Dierentuin

Op 5 minuten loopafstand van het hotel ligt de oudste dierentuin van Nederland Artis, opgericht in 1838. Bij de ingang is het historische karakter zichtbaar voordat je door de poort wandelt staan twee gouden adelaren op het hek bij de hoofdingang. Mensen genieten van de 19e-eeuwse sfeer van de tuinen, oude bomen en fascinerende beelden.

Artis is een hemel van rust in het centrum van Amsterdam. In een gebied van 14 hectare vind je rond de 700 diersoorten uit het gehele dierenkoninkrijk. Het pas gerenoveerde Artis Aquarium brengt je in contact met de geheime wereld van de Amsterdamse grachten.

ligt in een rustige wijk, goedkoop, en netjes.

de nachtportier/jongen wist niks, kende amsterdam niet eens beetje vreemd, parkeren voor het hotel niet doen, want wij zijn weggesleept.

room was nice & staff were mostly pleasant & helpful

we were in a quad reem which didnt have 4 beds. it had a pull out sofa & 2 beds which we dont think is the same as a 4 bed room. also, there were no mirrors other than in the toilet. this made it very difficult for 4 girls to get ready. a mirror was put in the room when we asked at reception.

el hotel estaba muy bien. nuestra estancia fue muy agradable ya que ibamos a todas partes de la ciudad a pie. el desayuno muy completo (huevo duro, embutidos, todo tipo de panes, mermeladas, zumo...). nuestra habitacion era una "small double room¨" y estaba totalmente equipada con lo necesario; pequeña pero acogedora. recomiendo este hotel.

el hotel no tiene ascensor. no puedes pagar con visa electron!

the family room was perfect for our family of five. great location, beautiful breakfast room, comfortable lobby (with our family enjoying the chess set).

most of the staff were very helpful, especially making sure breakfast service was excellent. one person sat in the office instead of checking the breakfast room for new arrivals. after 20 minutes, when i asked for coffee on behalf of a number of us, she responded impatiently, "ill be there in a few minutes." fortunately, that was one day out of several.

seems outside the city but very close to rembrandt plein, and just in front of the hotel there is tram to the central station. it is cheeper than other similar hotels and for instance the pirce covers 5 percent city tax. most of the hotels you have to pay this amount extra!
