In the area of Sarphati Hotel you can find all kinds of exotic little restaurants as well as the local restaurants. Two minutes walk is the biggest market of Amsterdam: the "Albert Cuypmarkt". The hotel is easy to reach by public transportation from all directions, since the hotel is located at 10 minutes from the center of town. The tram-system provides comfortable way of seeing Amsterdam and stops right in front of the hotel.
Within 10 minutes it can bring you to the medieval buildings, the old port, the red lights that denote the world's (flourishing) oldest trade, the earliest canals and the 17th-century merchant houses. If you prefer to walk, your legs can bring you there in half an hour. The tram can bring you in 10 minutes to the most bursting with life out-going-district in Amsterdam: the Rembrandt-square and the Leidseplein with all the disco's, bars, cinema's and restaurants
