Who was Anne Frank?
Anneliese Marie "Anne" Frank (June 12, 1929 – March, 1945) was a German-born Jewish girl who wrote a diary while in hiding with her family and four friends in Amsterdam during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. Her family had moved to Amsterdam after the Nazis gained power in Germany but were trapped when the Nazi occupation extended into The Netherlands. As persecutions against the Jewish population increased, the family went into hiding in July 1942 in hidden rooms in her father Otto Frank's office building (the Secret Annexe). After two years in hiding, the group was betrayed and transported to the concentration camp system where Anne died of typhus (in Bergen-Belsen) within days of her sister, Margot Frank, in February or March 1945. Her father, Otto, the only survivor of the group, returned to Amsterdam after the war ended, to find that her diary had been saved. Convinced that it was a unique record, he took action to have it published. It is published in English under the name The Diary of a Young Girl.

- het personeel was supervriendelijk en behulpzaam. er was gratis draadloos internet en het station ligt op loopafstand.
- de badkamer was wat gammel, maar er wred verbouwd aan het hotel, dus ik neem aan dat daar ook an wordt gewerkt. het was er s morgens vanaf vroeg rumoerig door andere gasten en werkzaamheden.

- the service was fine. everybody at the hotel were very helpfull and kind. they were always smiling, which was nice, because it made us feel very welcome.
- the rooms are very small, but then again, so is the price for staying ... :-) a little more variaty on the breakfast - not that it wasn´t good, it just wasn´t that exciting. maybe a little bacon and sausages, that would have been perfect.

- de ligging,het receptiepersoneel en het was er knus.de tv ,flatscreen met filmnet.

- location, breakfast, friendly staff, relatively quiet, canal view, comfy beds, wardrobe adequate, plenty of hangers.
- rooms small, cramped. bathroom inadequate, shower very ineffective (could be improved by cleaning), certain fixtures broken. radio clock malfunctioned. tea making facilities missing. pronounced smell of cigarette smoke in corridor, also came under the door.
