Vondelpark

Het Vondelpark is een park welke in Engelse style is ingericht. Met onder andere vijvers, grasvelden en kronkelige paden welke zijn aangelegd in de jaren 1860 en 1870 voor de middenklasse. Het park is vernoemd naar de dichter en toneelstukschrijver Joost van den Vondel, de Shakespeare van Nederland.

Het Park is circa 2 km lang en 300 meter breed, en is een uitstekende plek om te genieten van de weelderige groene omgeving. Van juni tot augustus worden er gratis concerten gegeven in het openlucht theater en er zijn tevens verscheidende musici aanwezig door het gehele park.

Het theehuis dat sinds 1936 bestaat kan u voorzien van een heerlijk bakje koffie en taart. Je kunt tevens inline skates en beschermers huren zodat je op deze wijze van het park kan genieten.

the worse thing is that the hotel charged to my credit card two times the cost, one the first day "only used to guarantee your booking" and the other one to pay the bill. they said to me that the first charge will be returned, but ... in 30 days! i find this stupid because i paid the bill with no problems. i was very happy with the service, but i will think twice to use it again when i return to amsterdam

létterlijk naast het concertgebouw en hoewel esthetische gebreken (uitgelopen verf, een grijze schijn op de lakens...) was alles wél netjes. ontbijtbuffet voldeed, de verwachte onaangename verrassingen (gezien de beloofde kwaliteiten en de lage prijs) bleven uit! heel tevreden, volgende keer zonder twijfel opnieuw.

centrale ligging, dicht bij tramlijnen, grote winkel tegenover het hotel, erg goedkoop, goed ontbijt.

erg krappe kamers, behalve slapen of in bed t.v. kijken kon je nietd doen, geen ventilatie en wat achterstallig onderhoud.
