Bruges has more to offer than the old historical city. One or several daytrips to the surroundings is to be recommended.
The beautiful green countryside around Bruges, also called the “Polders”, with its many picturesque medieval villages such as Damme, Oostkerke and Hoeke are an unequalled cyclists' paradise.
Another idea for a daytrip is the Flemish coast with its wide sandy beaches and some very nice seaside resorts such as the shopping-paradise Knokke-Zoute or the family-village of De Haan.

Information about Hotel Heritage

Once built as a private mansion in 1869, later in the hands of bankers, this magnificent 19th century classical building has been renovated and converted into the Heritage hotel.
The house has a 14th century old cellar with special arches, of which stones are now displayed at the museum of the archaeological society.
