Brummen is situated 6 kilometres from Zutphen and 8 from Doesburg. These two splendid old hanseatic towns have local museums, both housed in their magnificently restored town centres. The visitor will not be disappointed by the variety of possibilities for eating and/or going out.
The village of Brummen lies on the river IJssel. A small ferry will ferry you across to Bronkhorst, Holland's smallest town. At Bronkhorst begins the beautiful green part of the country, called the "Achterhoek"(= the rear-corner). Brummen itself is situated on the edge of theVeluwe, an excellent of the country for those who wish to cycle or to walk.
