Diever
The village Diever, only 2500 inhabitants , is situated at the outskirts of the National Park:’ Drents Friese Woud’. This forest is one of the largest in the Netherlands. The other national Park called ‘ het Dwingelderveld’ with beautiful heath is also nearby. By the old village square near the church, farmer markets are regularly held . In the forest around Diever they organize races and marathons. One can also enjoy the surroundings through bicycle and ATB-trips, Nordic Walking or horse riding. In the summer, 20 Shakespeare performances are held in an open air theatre in the middle of the forest.

Information about Erfgoedlogies Bed & Breakfast Burgers & Buitenlui
This old physicians residence, was built in the beginning of the last century. In April 2006 the new owners finished a thoroughly renovation and Burgers & Buitenlui opened her doors. The authentic entrance leads to the former practice of the doctor. This room is now used for breakfast and as a lounge.

Burgers & Buitenlui has 8 luxurious rooms, which all have their own theme and matching colours and decoration. Three of the eighth private bathrooms have a (whirlpool)bath. Breakfast is served in the former practice of the doctor and the guests can read a book from the present library while enjoying a glass of wine. There are comfortable armchairs around the hearth, which is burning during the colder months. The view from the lounge into the flower garden and the National Park is magnificent. A kitchen is available for those guests who would like to provide for their own meal.
