Yet within 5 minutes walk of Hotel Sipermann you find the restaurants and nightlife of Leidseplein. The square developed in the 17-th century as a wagon park for farmers and peasants to leave their carts here before entering the city centre. The name is because of Leidsepoort, which once marked the end of the main road from Amsterdam to Leiden. Nowadays, Leidseplein is a busy tram intersection and centre of night-time transport. Leidseplein is one of Amsterdam's popular centres for nightlife, with theatres, lots of cafes, restaurants, cinemas, the casino, the Lido theatre with live entertainment and music centres Paradiso and Melkweg. Street musicians, jugglers, fire-eaters and other performers make the square a lively place until the early hours, especially on warm summer evenings, when you can get there also a henna tattoo.

This small, friendly hotel offers excellent value for money. The hotel overlooks the famous Vondelpark. On a quiet road, yet within 5 minutes walk of the restaurants and nightlife of Leidseplein, the major museums at Museumplein and Vondelpark and the Holland Casino. Since August 2007 all have been renovated and also have new bathrooms!
For check in after 10 p.m the guest will be charged EUR 10 per hour Please indicate time of arrival. For payments by credit card there will be a surcharge of 6%. We do not have an elevator.

Nothing really, the bathroom was modern but everything else was outdated.
The stair way was terrible for baggage and very dangerous. I would not recommend this hotel.

Payment upon arrival. Attention: the VISA ELECTRON is not accepted to guarantee the reserve. The hotel does not have elevator or facilities to people of reduced mobility. The hotel has free wireless internet in the rooms. There are coffee- and tea making facilities and a cold drinks automat in the reception area. Parking fee is euro 4 per hour on the street, reservation is not possible. Baggage storage charges are euro 2.50 per person per day.
