During the sixties flower power in the Netherlands was symbolized by the famous Damslapers, a 'bunch of hippies' camping out on Dam square. Nowadays the square has lost a lot of it's former easygoing charm, but it's still one of the points of interest in the city. Dam square is the physical center of the city ever since the dam was built to keep the Zuiderzee (Southern sea) out. In the middle of the square is the National Monument, dedicated to all victims of war throughout the world. The west side of the square is flanked by the Royal Palace

Hotel De Koopermoolen is a monumental building dating from 1725 that was completely renovated in 1999. This two-star hotel is situated in the heart of Amsterdam and has 23 rooms on four floors.
Each room has a colour television, hairdryer, shower and toilet. The hotel also has a suite with jacuzzi. All the floors have lift access. A continental buffet breakfast is served in the spacious dining area. Guests can also use the safe, luggage depository and the internet facilities in the lounge. The Hotel has a typical staircase, which you will find in many monumental buildings in Amsterdam.

Lift kapot. Geen dubbel glas in ramen, dus rumoerig. We kwamen echter niet voor nachtrust, dus voor ons geen probleem!
