The Holterberg

The Holterberg is a hilly landside that is part of the National Park Sallandse Heuvelrug. The Holterberg can thank its name to the village of Holten in the Provice Overijssel, south of the area. In the north, this area is connected to the Haarlenberg and the Nietselerberg. This natural environment boast a lot of meddowfields, together with needle trees. Only on the Holterberg and the Hoge Veluwe, black grouses can be spotted.
The Holten War Cemetery is situated at the Holterberg. On this piece of Canadian Land, a large number of military have fought in the WO II.


A lot of nice walking routes are available in this area. Some even go to a hight of 76 meters above sealevel.
Our surrounding is ideal for cycle tours. In Overijssel there is a cycle network with many hundreds of kilometers of cycle paths. Please ask reception for several useful links concerning cycling in and around the Holterberg.
