Hasselt is the closest biggest village near De Barrier. It is situated at about 15 km from Houthalen. Here, you can find the Japanese garden, the gin-museum, the fashion museum and plenty of nice shops for clothes and other stuff.

At the ground-floor of De Barrier, you will find four different areas of the restaurant, a patio and a lounge bar. The following areas are just perfect for reunions :

* The Ballroom
The Ballroom has, with it's surface of 344m², a capacity of 300 persons in theatre style or 70 persons in U-Shape. For a lunch or dinner, this room has a capacity of 280 persons. The room is, thanks to the modern decoration, multifunctional. It has a magnificent fireplace and a connecting area with a bar.

* Room 1 & 2
These rooms can only be used in combination and are, after the ballroom, the biggest room in the Barrier. The room has a total surface of 52 m². We can accommodate 45 persons in theatre style and 24 in schoolstyle. For private lunches and dinners until 45 persons, this room is the perfect solution. It also has a beautiful view on the terrasse and garden with lake. It can also be used for larger dinners due to his connectivity with Room 3.

* Room 3 & 4
These rooms have both a surface of 42m². In these rooms we can organise meetings for 20 persons in theatre style and for 15 persons in schoolstyle. Also for the smaller lunches or cocktails these rooms can be the perfect location.
