History
The house is a listed building dating from the 17th century, and is built against the chapel of the former cloister. This chapel was built in 1475, and was originally the chapel of the Celle sisters. They nursed the mentally ill and plague-sufferers. After the reformation the cloister buildings took on a new role as part of the growing textile industry. Protestant textile manufacturers (the Walloons) from the south were encouraged to come to Kampen. the Guild of Linen Weavers were given a part of the cloister buildings as their Guild-house as well as the chapel. Their painted entry-gate (1665) can still be seen. We think Het Gildenhuisje was used by the Linen Weavers as a workshop.
City Farm:
The house is a listed building and was originally a city farm, it was built around 1850. The existing row of houses including the entrance to the farmhouse was built after the reformation of the monasteries, around the first quarter of the 17th century. The black- and white tiles date from this period. Around 1850 a large farmhouse was built behind and against the existing row of houses. The first floor of this house consists of a hayloft and underneath this were the stalls (now the living-room of the appartment), milk cellar, and accommodation for the farmer and his family, now the appartment. The farm was still in use as such until the end of the 1980’s.

We converted Het Gildenhuisje in into a spacious, luxurious apartment with a private entrance and terrace. Het Gildenhuisje is a non-smoking apartment and suitable for a maximum of two people. Besides the luxury of the apartment you can also enjoy the old style of the building. Very special for example are the buttresses of the church built next to the apartment. These can be seen in the living room.
This in combination with the characteristic and stylish interior of the apartment is something very special!
Cityfarm:
We bought it towards the end of 1998.The house was in a very bad state and we had to do a big renovation to make it comfortable enough to live in. Our purpose has been to restore as much as possible and re-use old materials where appropriate. We have tried to maintain the character of the old building, whilst at the same time making a comfortable interior.
The apartments are non-smoking. On request there is a free parking permit available. Payment cash on arrival or by bank. We do everything possible to make your stay a comfortable and enjoyable one, if you have any requests please let us know.

Het Gildenhuisje
To make sure our guests have a wonderful stay with us, we furnished Het Gildenhuisje with all possible comfort:
* a romantically made up king size bed;
* a comfortable sitting area with LCD tv, dvd and a computer with broadband internet;
* central heating and air conditioning, you can regulate the temperature yourself.
In the well equipped kitchen you will find a ceramic hob, a microwave oven, a fridge and dishwasher. The beautiful antique Aga-cooker is a wonderfull item in this kitchen.
Even a washingmachine- dryer is available!
From the living room you enter a large bathroom with:
* a two persons jacuzzi with: light, hydro-jets and aero-jets;
* steam- and showercabin;
* a combination sunbed;
* dressing-gowns, bathtowels, soap, showergel, bodylotion;
* access to private terrace.
The bathroom has floor heating.
If you please you can reserve a 4 persons professional sauna with (plunge)shower for your own private use. The sauna is situated nextdoor to your appartment in B&B de Stadsboerderij.

Appartment the City Farm
The B&B is situated on the ground floor. Fam. Coupe lives upstairs and you share the same front door. The appartment, consists of 2 rooms: a living room (broadband internetaccess) with a fully equipped kitchen, a large (family) bedroom and separate toilet.
In the beautiful large bedroom (1-6 persons) you find 2 box-beds (160 x 200 cm) and a large antique double bed (180 x 200 cm). In an alcove there is a bath with hydro-jets (180 x 80 cm) . From this bedroom you can see the garden through two big opening windows.
All rooms have television and a washbasin with cold and warm water. There is also a washing machine and a dryer for your own use.
Towels, bathslippers and dressing gowns are available.
After arrival you can reserve the professional sauna, 210 x 175 cm with (plunge)shower for for your own private use.
Note: there is also a second (small) bedroom for max. 2 persons next to the appartment wich you can not book online. Please contact the owner directly if you are interested in this room (as well).
