Lieveren
The area offers many scenic walking and cycling routes, because Lieveren is set amidst or nearby various nature reserves. For example, the Fochteloërveen, with its hauntingly beautiful moorlands and heather fields, is only a short distance away, as are the Leekstermeer wetlands and the Drents-Friese Woud, a 6,000 ha national park.
