Mondriaan
Pieter Cornelis (Piet) Mondriaan (Amersfoort, 7 maart 1872 - New York, 1 februari 1944) was een Nederlandse kunstschilder en kunsttheoreticus, die echter een groot deel van zijn leven in het buitenland woonde en werkte. Mondriaan wordt algemeen gezien als een pionier van de abstracte en non-figuratieve kunst. Vooral zijn latere geometrisch-abstracte werk, met de kenmerkende horizontale en verticale zwarte lijnen en primaire kleuren, is wereldberoemd en dient als inspiratiebron voor vele architecten en ontwerpers van toegepaste kunst. Hij was één van de belangrijkste medewerkers van het tijdschrift De Stijl en ontwikkelde een eigen kunsttheorie, die hij Nieuwe Beelding of Neo-plasticisme noemde. Hij is in het buitenland beter bekend als Mondrian, een verfransing van zijn achternaam.

Located in a quiet residential part of Amsterdam, but within good walking distance to the Museums, etc.... Easy access to the airport - local tram outside the door. I felt very comfortable and safe. Was really looked after by staff who really took interest in what my needs were and met them 100%. Will for sure return. would highly recommend. -

Everything! Anna Marie was very friendly, attentive and her dining recommendations nearby were also fantastic. We were given early check-in - the room was spotless, stylishly designed, and the most comfortable bed ever!

The staff were extremely gracious and anxious to be of help to us. The furnishings were all top notch and very beautiful. Everything was clean and neat. We didn realize till we got there that the bed in this room for two was actually two single beds pushed together. -

We stayed at the Museum Suites Rembrandt Suite for one night only (sadly), and we made sure to make the most of it!
Already upon entering you can see that this place is something special. There is no big flashy sign crying out "Hotel", the entrance is very discrete and we felt at home instantly - what with the flowers, the thick carpet muffling any sound, and the warm welcome!
The suite was stunning. The former glory of the rooms has been entirely restored. The floor, ceiling, beds, fabrics, (real!) flower bouquets, the (gas) chimney, the huge windows and the choice of furniture are simply sublime. The light white marble bathroom with bubble bath, soft towels, pro hairdryer and under-floor heating made us feel like royalty.
On top of this authentic style there are the most useful modern amenities: Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, iPod dock and of course the fireplace.
The owner who welcomed us at arrival (which was way past the hotels usual check-in time) and the lady handling the check-out in the morning were exceedingly friendly and made sure that we were not lacking anything.
As we did not take breakfast in the suite I cannot judge the offer.
If you are looking to stay in style, privacy and luxury in Amsterdam, this is the place to go. - -

Het hotel ligt in een mooie buurt dichtbij bezienswaardigheden. Het personeel is gastvrij en vriendelijk.De suite ziet er verzorgd uit en is mooi afgewerkt. Er hangt veel sfeer in het hotel. Echt een aanrader! Geen.
