The skyline of Rotterdam

Hotel One is situated in the centre of Rotterdam, so you can enjoy the beautiful skyline all the time! The Architecture of Rotterdam is all in Modern style, due to the WOII nothing was left of the old Rotterdam.in the modern style was built in Rotterdam.
Rotterdam is famous for its Kubuswoningen or cube houses built by architect Piet Blom in 1984. In addition to that there are many international well known architects based in Rotterdam like O.M.A (Rem Koolhaas), MVRDV and Neutelings & Riedijk to name a few.
Rotterdam houses several of the tallest structures in the Netherlands.
* The Erasmus Bridge (1996) is a 2,600-foot cable stayed bridge linking the north and south of Rotterdam. It is held up by a 138-meter tall pylon with a characteristic bend, earning the bridge its nickname "De Zwaan" ("the Swan").
* Rotterdam has the tallest residential building in the Netherlands, called Montevideo:
* Rotterdam is also home to the tallest office building Delftse Poort which houses Nationale Nederlanden insurance company, part of ING Group.
* The city also houses the 186-meter tall Euromast ("Euro Mast"), which has long been a major tourist attraction. It was built in 1960, initially reaching a height of 101 meters; in 1970, the Euromast was extended by 85 meters to its current height.
Rotterdam has a reputation in being a platform for the architectural discourse and education; the Berlage Institute a postgraduate laboratory of architecture, and the NAi (Netherlands Architecture Institute), which is open to the public and has various and very good exhibitions on architecture and urban planning issues.
Rotterdam is standing in the best European SkylineTop together with Frankfurt, Warsaw and Paris. More highrise projects are started in this city.

ruime kamer dicht bij station gratis internetaansluiting

geen goede afzuiging in badkamer, waardoor muffe lucht. geen geluidsdichte ramen steile smalle, donkere trap met scheve treden. zeer kleine lift geen ontbijruimte, volgens website wel weer aanwezig ( eind mei)

behang was overal zichtbaar met waterschade. kussens waren te hoog, geen airco, en minibar was niet gevuld. creditcard werd op ouderwetse manier met een cc slip gedaan, als borg. geen veilige manier van betalen dus. ze hielden de ccslip achter als borg (maar die heb ik teruggevraagd)

bizarre indeling van de badkamer, nl een enorme doucheruimte maar minimale ruimte voor de toilet. zo zit je met een bil tegen de douchewand en met de andere schouder tegen het fonteintje niet erg comfortabel.

kleine lift, gangen doolhof, maar wel goed verlicht. jammer dat er een verbouwing was. maar dit is wel goed gecommuniceerd.

lag midden in het centrum, aardig personeel, bed sliep perfect.

kamer was bloedwarm toen we aankwamen, vrij kleine kamer en we hadden wat last van geluid dat in eetgelegenheid onder kamer werd geproduceerd.

great staff--friendly, courteous, knowledgeable; room was spacious and comfortable; bathroom also spacious and clean

1st floor room a little noisy from restaurant below; no wi-fi, only cable internet; room temperature was a bit too warm but couldnt keep windows open due to noise from street; bathroom amenities (soap, shampoo, lotion) could be improved

aardige receptioniste. mooi ingerichte kamer, sanitair was ook erg mooi.

haar in badkamer en haar in (schone?) handdoek. bed was kapot reeds bij aankomst. beetje te duur hotel voor dit soort dingen.

erg gehorig; de buren waren tot zeer laat s nachts veel te goed te horen. zelfs het aan en uit zetten van de laptop was te volgen en lettelijk elk woord was te verstaan. bovendien waren de kussen veel te dik, echt onaangenaam en kwam er erg veel licht langs de gordijnen.

the hotel is located very close to the city center and also to public transportation. it is also quaint and more personal than the bigger chain hotels

there seemed to be a problem with mosquitos. we were both riddled with bites at the end of our stay. this might have something to do with the construction thats going on around the hotel, but a solution should be found, nonetheless.
