Best Western Hotel-Restaurant Stadskanaal 4**** is because of its central location at the border of Drenthe and Groningen without doubt the most ideal starting point to spend a few lovely days in the north of the Netherlands. Enjoy the great 700 hectares of landscape that surrounds Stadskanaal. The Hondsrug hills, the prehistoric Hunebed-monuments, the fortified town of Bourtange, the 17th century monastery in Ter Apel, the Regional Historical Center, the path through the treetops are all at very short distance from the hotel. This also applies to the many hiking and bicycle paths that all start close to the hotel. The nearby German border, the provincial capitals Assen (well known for its yearly TT motorraces) and Groningen are all situated within a half hour cardrive. The hotel itself is located in the heart of cosy Stadskanaal, right next door to the Saturday-street market and the Geert Teis theater, at short walking distance to the cinema and restaurants.
