Terschelling


Of the Frisian islands, Terschelling is the most varied. There is always something to do on Terschelling. Thirty kilometres of beach to the north, large wooded areas, extended, pure and untouched dune areas and a wide polder. At the same time the island offers lively villages with good restaurants, shops, many terraces and cafes. The village West-Terschelling bears witness to the island’s nautical past. The Brandaris lighthouse is the most famous example. The intimate harbour is now the berth for the historical ships, cargo ships and ferries. The island can be explored over almost 100 kilometres of cycle paths, providing days of exploration through the dunes and polder. A unique bike path outside of the dike completes the network. The Boschplaat is the crown on Terschelling’s nature empire. Fourteen kilometres of European Nature Reserve, a unique area in the Netherlands.
