Thorn
More than 800 years ago, Thorn was a miniature principality. Its remnants have become the historic heart of the town, now a heritage townscape. Picturesque white houses, beautifully preserved national heritage buildings dating from the 15th to 18th centuries, winding streets paved with original Maas cobblestones, and intimate courtyards alternate with lovely floor mosaics.
There are countless opportunities for enjoyable walking tours in the surrounding area, and the Maas river is ideal for surfing, sailing and canoeing. The medieval city of Maastricht can be reached by car in less than 30 minutes.
