Hotel De Foreesten is situated on the edge of the village Vierhouten in the midst of the Groene Hart (green hart) of the north Veluwe.

The hotel is surrounded by unique cycling and hiking areas, as it is located amidst the stretched out forests and heaths.

In the close environment there are imitation concealment huts that are reminiscent of the Verscholen Dorp. During the Second World War this village of semi-subterranean huts was populated by 80 to 120 people in hiding.

In association with the Tourist Information Office, many cycling and hiking routes have been outlined along the most beautiful places in the neighbourhood.

On certain set days we offer you the option of going on a hiking trip with the forester (if there are sufficient entries). This hike will lead you through a nature reserve that is generally closed off for the public and where you are very likely to encounter various types of game.
