About Vlieland

bird's eye view of the Dutch Waddenislands will tell that the island of Vlieland is different from the other islands. Where all other islands are oriented to the west-side, Vlieland is oriented to the east-side. You can tell by the the fact that the village and the docks are situated westly while on Vlieland this is the other way around. The enormous sand supply of the Vliehors together with the predominantly western winds, formed the highest sand dunes of the Wadden islands -40 meters high- called the 'Vuurboetsduin'. On top of it the light house is situated.

Because of the informal atmosphere in this hotel you'll feel right at home. The hotel is situated within a one minute walk from where the ferry moors. 'Zeezicht' lies against the main street 'Dorpsstraat', the old town centre of the island. On the small dyke in front of the hotel, the statue of Vlieland's 17th century explorer and Commodore 'William de Flander' proudly stands guard.
Vlieland is a car-free island and the ferry moors opposite the hotel.
