Royal estate "De Horsten" is very special in a few ways, because it's a big and beautifull green area of 415 ha.
It is one of the most biggest estatecomplex in the South of Holland so ideal for a nice long walk.

Take a visit to Castle Duivenvoorde.
Castle Duivenvoorde is in between of Voorschoten and Leidschendam. A long row of trees takes you from the "Veurseweg" to beautifull fields and a beautifull park. The castle was build in the middle ages and the current style is 17th and 18th century. After a big restoration castle Duivenvoorde opened it's door for the public in 1965. Every room in the castle has it's own character. A tour trough the castle takes you back to the glorious past of the people who lived in the castle ages ago.
