Het Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, meestal Rijksmuseum, of kortweg het Rijks, genoemd, is het grootste en belangrijkste rijksmuseum van Nederland. Het is gelegen tussen de Stadhouderskade en het Museumplein in het Amsterdamse stadsdeel Zuid en biedt in zijn ruim 200 zalen een overzicht van de Nederlandse kunst en geschiedenis. Een groot deel van zijn ruim 1 miljoen voorwerpen tellende collectie bestaat uit werken van 17e-eeuwse Nederlandse meesters. In het gebouw is tevens het Rijksprentenkabinet gevestigd. Het Rijksmuseum is eigendom van de Staat en staat op de lijst van de Top 100 der Nederlandse UNESCO-monumenten. Het hoofdgebouw is tot 2013 gesloten in verband met verbouwing. Tijdens de verbouwing blijven de 17de-eeuwse topstukken voor het publiek te zien in de Philipsvleugel. Hier worden ook kleine wisselende tentoonstellingen gehouden. Het Rijksmuseum is dagelijks geopend van 09.00 uur tot 18.00 uur (op 1 januari is het museum gesloten).

     The first room we were shown was in the basement and it was really musty and smelled bad. We had to change rooms but were not offered the reduction in price for the smaller room. This was disappointing as the original room was not live me.

     All positive. Great hotel in amsterdam!
     Room was great. Only thing i would change is a glass door for the shower ipv the curtain

     Hotel is well located and quiet clean and the staff are very polite The rooms are good and clean The stay was very pleasant to me
     1. Buttons lights too bright at night. and illuminate the room 2. on check out i asked to leave my luggage and put 2-3 thing in refrigirator but they didn't put it in refrigerator and needed to throw them away

     Just the room but reception very rude, demanding and forcing too many transactions on a credit card with no reason. Hotel policies are ridicules for security deposit. reception pre-authorize credit card, then cancel, then ask for deposit off the credit card. Then bother to notify you that all transactions will be cancelled after 5 days!!!

     On arrival there were 2 half empty bottles in mini bar from previous guest and bathroom had not been restocked so that meant I had towels etc from previous guest Water never refilled in minibar When I raised concerns - twice - told hotel busy Disappointing response Asked for manager to contact me but never heard from manager Shame as woman I initially spoke with to make booking was excellent as were some individual staff

     Easy to get to from Central station, walking distance to museum quarter. Staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel at home.

     Great location, close to restaurants, nice decor.
     Bathroom door opened into the bed ???? Shutter in the bathroom opens to the bed ???? Need softer bath towels. Light switch for the bathroom worked only sometimes, let staff know and it improved somewhat but should be changed out.

     The Supervisor/day Manager was very empathetic and responsive to the issues raised with the 2 rooms we booked. She was very apologetic and arranged free transport to the airport and a reduction in the room rate for one night. This appeased the situation, but we'd have preferred to not experiencing the issues in the first place.
     Double occupancy room was booked with specific request for two separate twin beds. A room with two single beds joined together was given on arrival, which did not meet the booking requirements. There are no American style double rooms at this hotel. I've never slept on a single bed in a hotel and did not enjoy the experience at the Notting Hill Hotel. And the room was not cleaned thoroughly. One of the rooms we booked was not cleaned at all on the Sunday and we returned after a long day of sightseeing to find the bins still full, bed not made and dirty towels in the bathroom. Not a pleasant welcome after a day out. Clean towels were provided and we were given plastic bags to clear the bins, as the cleaning staff had left for the day.

     The location and the cleanliness of the hotel.
     The staff were less than efficient: 1. Check-in process was slow 2. Upon check-out, requested for luggage to be stored, the luggage were only stored 40mins later, after third time of asking. The iron was really simple iron, would be great for steam iron to be provided instead for the convenience of business clients.

     I could not locate my passport upon arrival at hotel for check-in. I was told that under no circumstances could I be checked in. At the police station I was told that all I was required to produce was proof of my identity. In the evening, I asked the desk staff if could leave some mail already with postage for them to mail. The answer was a kind helpful yes.. The next morning the same individual who had previously refused to allow me "to check in" said that I would have to walk several blocks down the street to mail my envelope. This woman was rude, unhelpful, and the most negative person to encounter as the first representative of the hotel
